Zach Braff
Braff was born in South Orange, New Jersey, USA. He holds a degree in film from Northwestern University. He has played the lead role in Scrubs since the show first aired in 2001. He also appeared in Woody Allen’s Manhattan Murder Mystery and in productions of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and Macbeth at New York City's Public Theater.
Braff wrote, directed, produced and starred in 2004's Garden State. It was filmed in his home state of New Jersey, in various towns such as South Orange, Maplewood, and Tenafly.
In February of 2005, he won the Grammy for "Best Compilation Soundtrack For A Motion Picture" for Garden State, on which he served as the compilation producer.
In 2005, Braff was Punk'd by Ashton Kutcher and Scrubs co-star Donald Faison, right after a gang of kids led by Rob Pinkston spray painted on Braff's brand new $100,000 Porsche after he and Faison declined to buy them some beer.
