Za Dengel
Za Dengel was negus (throne name Asnaf Sagad II) (1603 – 1604) of Ethiopia, and a member of the Solomonid dynasty. He was the son of Lesana Krestos, the brother of Sarsa Dengel.
For his brief rule, he was the figurehead for his regent Za Sellase. However, he summoned the Jesuit Pedro Páez to his court at Dankaz, who persuaded him to embrace Catholicism. Despite the help of 200 Portugese troops, Za Dengel was unable to hold his throne, and perished in battle.
