ZGMF-X12A
In the anime series Gundam Seed, ZAFT created a series of advanced mobile suits based on technology reverse-engineered from the captured Earth Alliance G Project suits. Like their EA predecessors, the ZAFT Gundams were armed with advanced beam weaponry and protected by Phase Shift armor. However, a additional technology was incorporated as well: the Neutron Jammer Canceller, which countered the effects of the ubiquitous N-Jammers and allowed these suits to be powered by nuclear reactors. This gave them almost limitless combat endurance, even with Phase Shift armor activated.
One of these suits was the ZGMF-X12A, which never appeared in the anime/manga stories in its completed form. This mobile suit, codenamed "No. 12", is the fourth of the ZAFT Gundam series, and would be followed by the ZGMF-X13A Providence Gundam.
The ZGMF-X12A is the "lost" ZAFT Gundam of the Bloody Valentine War, and is speculated to be the incomplete frame Junk Guild technician Lowe Gear rebuilt as the Gundam Astray Out Frame. Much is unknown about this Gundam, except that it's cockpit is identical to that of the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam. But some believe that it was a second prototype that tested the DRAGOON used on the Providence Gundam, and that it had lightwave pulse thrusters like the METEOR mobile weapons platforms and the ZGMF-X11A Regenerate Gundam. It probably had a similar armament to the Freedom, without the plasma beam cannons and railguns. This mobile suit was never completed in its original form, and was put into storage in a prototype of GENESIS before being discovered by Lowe Gear.
