Ysanne Isard

Ysanne Isard is an Imperial character from the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Isard was a ruthless and cunning woman which earned her nickname "Iceheart". Though she was beautiful, she had a red and blue eye. She was a native of the Imperial Centre and was the daughter of Armand Isard who was then the Director of Imperial Intelligence. He tried to get Ysanne murdered by dispatching her on a mission to Darkknell to retrieve the stolen datapads containing the plans of the first Death Star. Unfortunetly Ysanne survived but failed to recover the datapads and she soon realised why her father had sent her on that mission. In revenge, Ysanne had him implicated in the theft of the Death Star datapads. She also had Armand framed for the bombing of the Treitamma Political Centre. Ysanne then had Armand Isard executed.

Ysanne Isard was then promoted to the position of Director of Imperial Intelligence. She then had the Lusankya (a Super Star Destroyer) constructed deep beneath the cityscape of Coruscant. Down there, Isard used the Lusankya as her private prison where she kept captured Rebels so that they could be brainwashed to be made into sleeper agents. After the death of Palpatine and the defeat of the Empire during the Battle of Endor, she allied herself with Grand Vizier Sate Pestage who assumed command of the Imperial Centre. Later, Isard allowed him to be captured by the New Republic in Brentaal. The Ruling Circle of Imperial officials assumed command but Ysanne Isard had them murdered. Ysanne Isard then assumed command of Coruscant but her rule was threathened by rival warlords and the New Republic.

Before the New Republic took Coruscant, her scientists created the Krytos virus that only targeted non-human races, leaving the New Republic to deal with the problem. She then fled Coruscant onboard the Lusankya which in the process tore off a large part of Coruscant's cityscape, killing millions. She then headed to the bacta-rich world of Thyferra, taking it and its bacta assets. She later fought Rogue Squadron in a conflict known as the Bacta War. During the battle the Lusankya was captured though Isard managed to escape and scatter the prisoners. Later Isard allied herself with the New Republic to defeat a warlord.

Later Isard helped the New Republic (Star Wars) to retrieve the missing prisoners from Admiral Krennel. But Isard was not to be trusted. She later tried to recapture her beloved Lusankya but died in the attempt.
