York Foundation

The York Foundation

The York Foundation was a heel stable in professional wrestling that worked in World Championship Wrestling in the early 1990's.

History

The York Foundation was started in December 1990 by Manager Miss Alexandra York and wrestler Michael Wallstreet. Miss York used a laptop computer at ringside to calculate strategies for her man to win his matches. They also dressed in business suits and put their hair up to give a more sophisticated look.

Wallstreet left for the WWF in January 1991 to become "Irwin R. Shyster", so Terry Taylor was recruited to become "Terrence Taylor". Miss York also added a bodyguard, Mr. Hughes.

She asked Dustin Rhodes to join but he turned her down, which became Taylor's first feud in the Foundation.

In April and May, she had Taylor team with Arn Anderson and Larry Zbysko as potential recruits but they formed a tag team called the "Enforcers". She also gave "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel a few tryouts but did not sign him as he lost those matches.

She scored a major victory in June 1991 when she convinced Ricky Morton to turn on his Rock 'N Roll Express partner Robert Gibson and join her Foundation as "Richard Morton". In July, she added Tommy Rich as "Thomas Rich" and they were at full strength.

They feuded with Rhodes, Gibson, Tom Zenk and Bobby Eaton, who had also turned her down for membership.

They went on to win the World Six-Man Tag Team Championship and had a feud with the Fabulous Freebirds when the Foundation disbanded in January 1992.
