Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), is one of the premier business schools of India, located in the eastern state of Orissa. XIMB was the brainchild of the joint initiatives of the Government of Orissa and the Jesuit Society. Established in 1987, this institution has always been the frontrunner in nurturing business leaders and contributing to the cause of a better social order in terms of cutting edge consultancy.

The institute offers a two-year postgraduate program in business management and also, a postgraduate program in rural management of the same duration. The students are required to take XAT (XLRI Admission Test) conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur to be eligible to apply to XIMB. The institute also caters to the need of the business executives of various companies through its three-year postgraduate program solely designed for them. XIMB's Fellow Program in Management (FPM) program provides doctoral level education in management and related disciplines. Corporate participants can enroll in the MDP (Management Development Program) to sharpen their business acumen. A team of dedicated faculty pass on the nuances of managerial decision making to the participants in the inspirational precincts of the institute. The research and consultancy wing Cenderet undertakes national and international projects to cater to governments, corporations and NGOs.

A wi-fi campus, the first of its kind in the country, state of the art infrastructure, a sprawling landscape endowed with greenery, inspiring academic blocks and a vibrant hostel life are some of the highlights of the campus life in XIMB. A host of in-house activities initiated by the students in the form of clubs such as X-Fin, Maxim, X-Sys, X-Ops, Ximahr, Illuminatix, Rmax etc helps them to hone their skills in finance, marketing, systems, operations and human resources. With the 18th batch preparing to put on the convocation gowns in 2005, the Institute finds eminence personified in the legacy of its students carving a niche in the corporate arena.

Xpressions, the annual B-school fest of XIMB brings together the students of various business schools in the competitive arena of skills and entertainment.
