X-Wing Series

Star Wars: X-Wing is a 9 book series that cover the Expanded Universe of Stars after the Battle of Endor. The book focuses mainly on Rogue Squadron and later, Wraith Squadron. These squadrons mainly utilizes the Incom T-65 X-Wing but sometimes they will use TIE Fighters and Interceptors.

Summary of Books

The series is written by two authors, Michael A. Stackpole and Aaron Allston. The first 4 books deal with Rogue Squadron while books 5 and 6 features Wraith Squadron. Book 7 focuses on both squadrons and a new character named Gara Petothel. Book 8 talkes about Rogue Squadron and Book 9 is about a select few individuals and is considered to be a book of its own.

Book 1: Rogue Squadron

Wedge Antilles, probably the best fighter pilot in the New Republic wants to reform the legendary Rogue Squadron. He selects the elite pilots who are all interesting characters. The book focuses on the development of those characters especially Corran Horn. Unfortunatly, one of the Rogue Squadron member named Tycho Celchu is thought to be a spy is under close security.

In the war, Rogue Squadron is assign to hit a power conduit on a planet that is a stepping stone towards Coruscant (Galactic Center).


Book 2: Wedge's Gamble

Rogue Squadron is on a intelligence mission and they free convicted criminals and they are secretly inserted into Coruscant. Corran becomes attracted to Erisi but decides to hold back. As they constantly attempt to knock out the shields, Isard is developing a devastating virus named Kryptos. At the end, Corran Horn is captured and sent to Lusankya, a Super Star Destroyer and a prison for converting people. Corran is thought to be dead.

In the war, Rogue Squadron manages to take over a orbital mirror control station and boil a resevoir. The water evaporated suddenly creates a massive thunderstorm that knocks out Coruscant's shield. The Rebels invade the planet and become the New Republic. However, Ysanne Isard, the Director of Imperial Intelligence, plants a trap that should crush the Rebellion.

Book 3: The Kryptos Trap

The Kryptos Virus is crushing the New Republic financially and morally. The aliens are jealous because the humans are not effected by it.

Book 4: The Bacta War

Book 5: Wraith Squadron

  Wedge Antilles, fresh back from the Bacta War on Thyferra, decides to make a new fighter squadron/commando team. While pitching the idea to Admiral Ackbar, he proposes a way to build the squadron without any cost to the New Republic: he'll use pilots that no one else will take. Screw-ups, wash-outs, pilots who are a hair's breadth of being kicked out of Fighter Command.
  Antilles, with help from Wes Janson, scrounges up an interesting team. 
  Jesmin Ackbar: Niece of Admiral Ackbar
  Hohass "Runt" Ekwesh: A Thakwaash with multiple personalities
  Garik "Face" Loran: A former Imperial child-recruitment actor
  Voort "Piggy" saBinring: A Gamorrean pilot.
  and Kell Tainer: The son of a Rebel pilot that Janson was forced to kill.
  The novel focuses on Wraith Squadron's antics as it goes undercover as a the crew of an Imperial Blockade Runner under the employ of Warlord Zsinj.

Book 8: Isard's Revenge

Book 9: Starfighters of Adumar
