Card and Results

Cruiserweight Championship Match (SmackDown!)

Matt Hardy (C) with Shannon Moore vs. Rey Mysterio, Jr.

Rey fights off interference by Moore but Hardy wins by rolling up Rey while holding the ropes.

Result: Hardy by pinfall, still Cruiserweight Champion

The Undertaker vs. Big Show and A-Train (SmackDown!)

Taker was originally scheduled to team with Nathan Jones, but Jones was attacked by Big Show and A-Train during that day's Sunday Night Heat. The match effectively became a handicap match; however near the end Jones ran down to the ring and took out Big Show, allowing Taker to pin A-Train with the Tombstone.

Result: Undertaker over A-Train by pinfall

Women's Championship Triple Threat Match (RAW)

Victoria (C) with Steven Richards vs. Trish Stratus vs. Jazz

Much interference by Steven Richards; he managed to hit himself with a chair and Stratus downed him for good with the Stratusfaction. Trish then hit Victoria with the Chick Kick for the pin.

Result: Stratus over Victoria by pinfall, new WWE Women's Champion

WWE Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match (SmackDown!)

("Team Angle") Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin (C) vs. ("Los Guerreros") Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit and Rhyno

Much back-and-forth action from all three teams. Rhyno hit Chavo with the Gore at the end but was then preoccupied with Eddie on the outside, allowing Benjamin to get the pin.

Result: Benjamin over Chavo Guerrero by pinfall, Team Angle still WWE Tag Team Champions

Singles Match (RAW)

Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho

Believed by many to be the Match of the Year for 2003. Jericho kicked out of a pin attempt after the Sweet Chin Music, but HBK rolled him up shortly thereafter for the pin. After the match, Michaels and Jericho embraced in the center of the ring, but Jericho then dropped to the floor and hit Michaels with a low blow before leaving the ring to a shower of boos.

Result: Michaels by pinfall

World Heavyweight Championship Match (RAW)

Triple H (C) with "Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Booker T

Little buildup to this match. Triple H gets the win with the Pedigree.

Result: Triple H by pinfall, still World Heavyweight Champion

A Street Fight 20 Years in the Making (SmackDown!)

Hulk Hogan vs. Vince McMahon Both men bled profusely before the match was over, with McMahon giving Hogan a vicious legdrop off a ladder through a table, a high spot during the match. An apperance was also made by Rowdy Roddy piper who proceeds to attack Hogan. Hogan gets the pin after three Legdrops, after which Shane comes out to tend to Vince.

Result: Hogan by pinfall

Singles Match (RAW)

The Rock vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin

The third WrestleMania match between these two; Austin got the first two victories at WrestleManias XV and XVII, both matches for the WWE Championship with Rock going in as the champ. No title on the line this time. Rocky cuts a promo earlier that night saying he learned in Hollywood that nobody remembers the first and second act of a movie, just the third.

Lot of brawling and back story. The Rock wins a hard-fought battle, but it takes three Rock Bottoms to finally put down the Rattlesnake. This was Stone Cold Steve Austin's last match to date.

Result: Rock by pinfall

WWE Championship Match (SmackDown!)

Kurt Angle (C) vs. Brock Lesnar

May only be remembered for the horrific ending. Near the end, Brock hit two F5's on Angle, but instead of going for the pin, he went up to the top rope on the opposite site of the ring. Despite being much too far away, he attempted a Shooting Star Press, and landed on his head and neck several feet from Angle. Angle then called an audible to a dazed Lesnar for a third F5 to end the match. Out of this match came the wrestling slang verb "to Brock," which basically means "to miss the biggest move in the biggest match ever."

Result: Lesnar by pinfall, new WWE Champion
