Witold Hurewicz

Witold Hurewicz (June 29 1904 – September 6 1956) was a Polish mathematician. He was born in Lodz and died in Uxmal, Mexico.

His main interest was topology. He gave his name to the Hurewicz theorem linking homotopy theory to homology theory, and the Hurewicz fibration.
