The Withlacoochee, Plant City and Boca Grande Railroad

Florida state law chapter 4258, approved May 31, 1893, changed the name to The Withlacoochee, Plant City and Boca Grande Railroad Company, and reduced the charter members to Walter S. Turner, Inverness; Thomas J. Cochran, Inverness, Florida; William Baily, Tallahassee, Fla.; Alexander B. Hawkins, Tallahassee, Florida; Wm. P. Denham, Tallahassee, Fla.; Wm. J. Hawkins, Raleigh, N. C. The line was redefined
- to start from a point on the Withlacoochee river in Citrus county, running through the counties of Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, to Plant City, in Hillsborough county; thence through Hillsborough, Manatee and DeSoto to Boca Grande in Lee county, with a branch running from Plant City to Bartow and other points.
The railroad would only be entitled to land grants for portions constructed before or on September 1, 1897.
