Wisla

(Redirected from Wisla, Poland)

Wisła is a town in southern Poland, with a population of about 11,100, near the border with Czech Republic and Slovakia. Situated in the Silesian Voivodship (since 1999), previously in Bielsko-Biala Voivodship (1975–1998). Located near the national tourist centre Ondraszek, Wisla is a popular year-round tourist destination, with the nearby mountains favoured by ski jumpers. It is the home town of ski jumper Adam Malysz. The town is named after the Polish name for the Vistula River.

The well known Wisla soccer club is actually based in Cracow, not in the town of Wisla.
