Widdle

To Widdle is to play guitar fast. This is generally with reference to electric guitar, and in particular, more apt when applying it to someone from a rock or metal genre. Many other genres such as progressive/jazz etc exist for which the term "Widdling" could easily apply. My mention & list of genres is by no means exhaustive.

One can only assume the origins of this term, or coloquialism within the guitar community, was born out of the sound made by rapid notes delivered from an electric guitar, in particular, successive hammer-ons and pull-offs without individual plectrum strikes for each note.
