Whom Gods Destroy (comics)

Whom Gods Destroy (1997) is a comic written by Chris Claremont with artwork by Dusty Abell and Drew Geraci under the Elseworlds imprint of DC Comics. The four-part series, an alternate future story on Superman and Wonder Woman, is considered to be one of the oddest Elseworlds comics ever published. The story involves Greek mythology, Nazism, insubtle BDSM scenes, Sex change and, above all things, Lois Lane turning into Wonder Woman in order to fight Diana (the original Wonder Woman), who became a Nazi soldier. Superman also transforms into an evil centaur.
In the near future, Lois Lane and Lana Lang are now old, while Superman stayed young due to his being an alien from the planet Krypton. The Reich in this future never fell, and Germany is still under Nazi rule. Lois has visions of Superman gleefully killing people, including Lana and her, but they are dismissed as dreams. In the meantime, Superman gets attacked by trolls and harpies, the latter which cause Lois and Superman to crash land a plane into German soil. Lana, previously kidnapped, coincidentally is also held in Germany.
Lois soon discovers that the Reich is ruled by the God Adonis, and Artemis and Athena are trying to kill him. Diana, the Wonder Woman, betrayed Paradise Island and is now part of the Reich. Worse still, Diana has cropped her hair into a crewcut. At this point, it is also revealed that the Greek pantheon is in league with the Nazis, thus causing power imbalance, and allowing the Nazis to employ mythological monsters to fight superheroes. A fight ensues between the German army and the Greek heroines, who die and give their power to Lois Lane, transforming her into a younger woman, and also Wonder Woman.
Superman encounters one of the Titans, Typhon, loses the fight after being showed green visions of people he knew, then transformed into an evil centaur by Circe. Lana Lang, in the meantime, is imbued with the power of the Oracle of Delphi, and can perform magical feats. An encounter with the centaur version of Superman (complete with mullet) makes her not only young again, but also a centaur. She later transforms back to human, and manages to use bit and saddle to convince the evil centaur Superman that he is in fact, Superman. At the same time the two Wonder Woman fight about before a background full of fallen structures, ablazed.
Superman and Lana then meet the Hecate, and Lana reveals she has powerful magic and can transform into a centaur like Superman too. She becomes human again, then gives Superman a sex change with her magic, because his "crimes as leader of the Maenads were against women, (and therefore he) must take their part". Female Superman then has to infiltrate the Great Hall of the Reich, which is guarded by the Minotaur. Lois Wonder Woman defeats Nazi Wonder Woman and ties her up with her Lasso of Truth. More fighting occurs.
Finally, it is revealed that Zeus and Hera were playing a chess game, using the world as their playpieces. Adonis is sent to be taken care of by Hades. Thus, Lois Lane (young again, imbued with the power of Wonder Woman), Lana Lang (young again, imbued with the power of the Oracle of Delphi), and Superman (already young, imbued with the power of being Superman) live together happily ever after.
