Werther

Werther is an opera by Jules Massenet. The libretto was based on the novel The Sorrows of Young Werther by Goethe. It was first performed in Vienna in 1892.

Werther is part of the standard operatic repertoire. There are a several recordings of it, and it is regularly performed.
