Werner Boy

Werner Boy was a mathematician. He was the discoverer of, and eponymous to, Boy's surface – a three dimensional projection of the real projective plane without the formation of a singularity, the first of its kind. He discovered it in 1901 following its assignation to him by David Hilbert who was attempting to disprove its existence. Without computers, Boy was unable to see a parametric model of the form – B. Morin would not do this until 1978.
