Welcome to Paradise
Welcome to Paradise is a song from Green Day's 1992 album Kerplunk and again on their 1994(and most critically acclaimed) album Dookie. The song is based on the lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, moving into a new house. The lyrics also describe moving out. At first, the song describes a pigsty and the lead singer wanting to move back in. This is after 3 weeks. Near the end, it is 6 months, and he wants to stay. Welcome to Paradise means, sarcastically at first, that his mom is visiting, and these are the words he says when he shows her in.
The song also features a very long guitar riff by Tré Cool.
