Weißenfels is a place in the district, , Germany. It is located in the Saale area. The city has museums, churches, a school, a park, a post office, a garden and squares.
History
The city received municipal rights in 1185. It became a residenzstadt from 1656 to 1746.

Economy
Shoe was its primary industry until 1991 when the factory shut down. The buildings were torn off partially or for rent.
