Wawasee

Wawasee or Wawaausee ("Full Moon") was a Miami chief who lived in Indiana. He was brother to Papakeecha.

Wawasee was a signatory to the Treaty of Mississinwas, by which he was alloted a small reservation near present-day Syracuse, Indiana. After his death, the former Turkey Lake was renamed Lake Wawasee in his honor.
