Wali Jones

Walter "Wali" Jones (born February 14, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a former pro basketball player. He has been a part of the 1967 Philadelphia 76ers team featuring Wilt Chamberlain, Hal Greer, Chet Walker and Billy Cunningham, that ended the 8 year championship winning streak of the Boston Celtics. Jones made the Sixers starting linup after Larry Costello ripped his Achilles tendon on January 6, 1967.

Wali Jones went through Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, the same school that had produced Chamberlain a few years earlier.
