Waikikamukau

Waikikamukau, (pronounced as if saying "Why kick a moo-cow?"), is an imaginary small rural town or locality in New Zealand. New Zealanders use the word for "any town" or to denote a particularly remote rural town.

Waikikamukau is an example of how a pretend Maori word can be created out of an English phrase. Maori comedian Billy T. James created others. It gives some insight into how Maori is written and recorded phonetically.
