Wo, Wae or Wa (Chinese and Japanese: 倭, Korean: 왜) is an ancient name of Japan in Chinese. The first written record of Japan (then in its Yayoi period of history) is founded in Wei Zhi (魏志) of San Guo Zhi.

It is pronounced and transcribed as Wo in Chinese (Mandarin Hanyu Pinyin), Wai in Cantonese, Wae in Korean and Wa from Japanese.
