WBGU 88.1 FM is a non-commercial, college radio station located on the campus of Bowling Green State University in northwest Ohio. WBGU-fm is a student run radio station that focuses on independent, underground, and under-represented music and is dedicated to connecting with the surrounding communities.
Broadcasting at 1,000 watts, and via a webcast found at www.wbgufm.com, WBGU-fm offers people in northwest Ohio the opportunity to hear truly alternative music new and old. Our programming schedule ranges from indie rock to jazz, hip-hop, electronic, world, folk, metal, punk, industrial, gothic, experimental, blues, country, latin, and more. Our DJs range from college students to professors to community members who simply love music. Each DJ is a wealth of information, sharing facts and interesting tidbits about the music they play and the artists they enjoy.
Helping bring great performers to Bowling Green is a main goal of WBGU-fm. Working with local clubs and Bowling Green State University, WBGU-fm obtains many nationally recognized and critically acclaimed artists to perform in Bowling Green. In addition WBGU-fm works with campus and community groups to spread the word about local events and activities.
Providing alternative media, local sports and news programming, and great music, WBGU-fm is on the air 24 hours a day, 7 days a week each and every academic year, as well as each summer. The strength of WBGU-fm is the diversity and the commitment of each and everyone of our volunteer workers.
