Virginia Larsson

Virginia Larsson is a Canadian politician and activist in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She ran in the provincial election of 2003 as a Progressive Conservative in the district of Rossmere, an area on the northern end of Winnipeg with a large Mennonite population. Larsson finished second with 2296 votes, against 5057 for winner Harry Schellenberg of the New Democratic Party (who is himself a Mennonite).

A social conservative, Larsson is an opponent of same-sex marriage and has been an advocate for children and the elderly.

Larsson is a mother to two children and is the wife of acclaimed jazz artist Walle Larsson. She gives much of her time to charities, including the Verity Club and the local children’s hospital.

In the federal election of 2004 Larsson worked for the new Conservative Party of Canada in Winnipeg.
