Viraja Homa

Viraja Homa refers to the formal ceremonies by which a Hindu monk takes up the vows of renunciation (Sannyas). It is part of the full Sannyas Diksha (monastic initiation). After Viraja Homa, the monk receives the ochre robes, characteristic of Hindu monks, from the guru.
