Villa Betahnia
The Villa Bethania is part of the former estate of the Abbe Bérenger Saunière the former parish priest of Rennes-le-Château between 1885-1909. It was never occupied until it was purchased in 1946 by the hotelier Noel Corbu, who during Easter 1955 turned it into a restaurant and later into a Hotel. Sauniere and his housekeeper Marie Denarnaud always lived in the church Presbytery. Corbu popularised many myths surrounding the area which subsequently gained popularity in books such as the Da Vinci Code.
