Vibia Sabina
Vibia Sabina was an Empress and wife to Emperor Hadrian. She was born about 86ad to Salonina Matidia, niece of Emperor Trajan and Lucius Vibius Sabinus, a man of consular rank.
She married Hadrian, at the Empress Plotina's request for him to succeed her great-uncle in 117ad. Although they had no children, they had an unhappy marriage. In 128ad, she was awarded with the title of Augusta.
This beautiful woman was strong, independent and her beliefs in marriage didn't fit well with the Emperor. Sabina had an affair with one of his slave boys.
She died in 136 or 137ad, before her husband of unknown causes. There are rumours that Hadrian poisoned her, however there is not enough evidence to prove this.
