Vejle municipality

Vejle municipality is a municipality (kommune) in south-east Denmark, in the county of Vejle.

The municipality covers an area of 143.98 km², and has a total population of 55,750 (2004). Main city and site of municipal council is Vejle.

By January 1, 2007 Vejle municipality will cease to exist, as it will combined with Børkop, Give and Jelling municipalities to form a new municipality, which has not yet been officially named but will likely be called 'Vejle municipality'.
