Veer Zaara
Veer Zaara is a romantic movie set in the background of Indo-Pak Relations. The film tells the story of an Indian pilot, Veer Pratap Singh (played by Shahrukh Khan), who saves a Pakistani girl Zaara Hayaat Khan (played by Preity Zinta). Veer then takes Zaara on a tour of India's Punjabi as the two fall in love in the fog of poor relations between both the countries.
Rani Mukherji plays Saamiya Siddiqui, a lawyer who comes to the help of these two, while the most popular faces of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan & Hema Malini also star the film.
The movie has been released worldwide and reportedly a success all over.
Music
The music is taken from the old compositions of Late Madan Mohan. The singing legend, Lata Mangeshkar has sung in most of the songs. The Lata Mangeshkar – Madan Mohan pair was very popular in the yesteryears, and makes this movie significant with Lata singing the songs after almost 30 years after Madan Mohan passed away. The songs are slow, rhythmic and has lyrics by Javed Akhtar. The music has been re-scored to the modern tastes by the late Madan Mohan's son, Sanjeev Kohli. The other singers featuring in the music are Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Gurdas Mann, Roop Kumar Rathod and Ahmed & Mohhamed Hussain.
