Varma Kalai

(Redirected from Varmakkalai)

Varma Kalai (also spelt Varmakalai or Varmakkalai) is a martial art originally from Tamil Nadu, India and practised by Tamil people, which trains people to attack the vital points of an opponent's body with hands or weapons. The main feature of this art is that the attack won't be intense, but the effect will be hard as they attack on the vital key points of body.

One who teaches and masters this art is called aasaan (Tamil: master). It couldn't survive much because of some closed thoughts, though it is still taught at Nagercoil. It is also said that the master won't explain all tricks to his students to maintain it's purity and also said that master will take about 10 years to share about 75% of the tricks he knows.
