Variable Skink

Variable Skink is the common name of two different species of skinks, a kind of lizards:

  • The North-American Variable Skink has the scientific name Eumeces multivirgatus epipleurotus. It is sometimes also classified as E.m. gaigeae (also a subspecies of Eumeces multivirgatus), and sometimes even as a separate species with the scientific name Eumeces gaigeae.
  • The Mabuya varia is also called Variable Skink and occurs in Africa.
