Virtualization Technology

(Redirected from Vanderpool)

Virtualization Technology allows a single machine to run multiple operating systems at once. Once known by its codename "Vanderpool", it is officially launched at the Intel Developer Forum Spring 2005.

It would be available on the Pentium D, which would be launched 2Q 2005.

AMD has a competing version of the extensions, called Pacifica. Whether it is a plain clone of Intel's VT or a clone with added features is unknown.
