Val Garay is a record producer and engineer who has worked with Kim Carnes, The Motels, Marty Balin, Gary U.S. Bonds, Joan Armatrading, Dolly Parton, Pablo Cruise, James Taylor, Queensrÿche, Cock Robin, Dramarama, E-Z-O, Ringo Starr, Linda Ronstadt, Nicolette Larson and others.

In 1982 he shared a Grammy Award for Record of the Year with Kim Carnes, for the record "Bette Davis Eyes".
