Vaishnodevi
Vaishnodevi is one of the many gods in the Hindu religion. Some of its more common names include Jai Mata Di and Mata Rani. She is known as the goddess of strength. Vaishnodevi's main temple is situated in the Indian state of Jammu.

Vaishnodevi's appearance
Unlike most Hindu gods, Vaishnodevi has 8 arms. She holds many items including a sword, bow, shield and conch. She sits on a lion who is in a passive position.
The Temple's History
Because it is near the Indo-Pakistan border, the Vaishnodevi temple has been prone to terrorist attacks.
How to reach the temple
Location Mata's cave shrine is nestled in the mighty Trikuta mountain 61 kilometres north of Jammu at a height of 5,200 feet above the sea level in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India.
Airway : Nearest airport – Jammu (48 km from Katra) Daily Flights are available from Delhi and Srinagar. These flights (Indian Airlines) connect Chandigarh & Amritsar on some days of the week.
Railway : Nearest Railway Station – Jammu By rail, Jammu is directly connected cities like Calcutta, Delhi and Kanyakumari. Besides, it is connected with other major cities of the country.
Roadways : Jammu is the terminus of a large number of Inter State Bus Services.
