Vacarescu family
The Văcărescu family was a boyar family of Wallachia (now part of Romania).
According to tradition it is one of the oldest noble families in Wallachia. Its mythical founder is said to have been a certain "Kukenus", of Spanish origin, settled in Transylvania as lord over Făgăraş. Others connect the family with "Ugrin", count of Făgăraş.
