VW Fox

The VW Fox is a compact car produced by Volkswagen in Brazil and Mexico. It is a three-door hatchback, which is smaller than the VW Polo.

It was also the name of a small sedan (derived from the hatchback VW Gol) produced by VW in the 1980s, in Brazil, where it was sold under its original name, VW Voyage, and also Argentina, where it was known as the VW Gacel. It was available both in two-door and four-door versions, although the Brazilian home market version was almost always a two-door. It was a design unique to South America, although it bore a family resemblance to the European VW Jetta, also a four-door sedan. During the late 1980s and early 90s, it was sold by VW in North America as an entry level model. A wagon version, which was a 3-door due to Brazilian preference at the time, was also made and marketed as the VW Parati in Brazil and the VW Fox wagon in North America. It was discontinued from the North American market after 1989, and was the last two-door wagon offered in the U.S.

In South Africa, the VW Fox was a model based on the original VW Jetta, but featuring the front end of the Citi, itself a facelifted version of the original VW Golf, still in production in South Africa.
