VF-22 Sturmvogel II

The VF-22 Sturmvogel is a variable geometry space fighter from the anime Macross 7. It is designed by General Galaxy after its failed competition against Shinsei Industries' YF-19 for U.N. Spacy sponsored Project Super Nova.

VF-22 is the conventional VF rather than using the BCS/BDI system which caused test pilot to have feedback and other psychological problems. It's still contain the active stealth technology, and inertia vector control system used in the Quimeliquola Quaedlunn-Rau (Female Combat Armor) battlesuits.

VF-22's design was transmitted to Macross 7 and authorized to build 2 VF-22 for Macross 7 Space Colonization Fleet's Special Force. The first two VF-22 were piloted by Macross 7 Battle Fleet Commander Captian Maximilian Jenius, and his wife Macross 7 Mayor Milia Fallyna Jenius. Later there was a third one piloted by U.N. Spacy Macross 7 Space Colonization Fleet Special Force Diamond Squadron Leader Lieutenant Gamlin Kizaki in Macross Dynamite 7 OVA
