Urse d'Abitot

Urse d'Abitot. Went to England after William the Conqueror's victory in 1066. An unverified story is that Urse was knighted by William during the Battle of Hastings. He was named Earl of Worcester. He infuriated the monks at Worcester Abbey by building the ditch of his castle through their cemetery. He helped to put down a rebellion against William by the Earl of Hereford. Founded Great Malvern Priory in Malvern, Worcestershire.
