Untitled!

Untitled! is a web comic drawn and written by Gloria Pike, with some help from her husband, Devon Pike. This comic strip began in April of 2000, and is usually updated three or four times per week. The strip centers around a group of young adults who live in the midwestern U.S. and who have a knack for getting into unusual situations. The major protagonist is a female kangaroo rat named Twapalena (Twapa, for short) who is a brilliant but angst-ridden "mad scientist" with a penchant for collecting guns and getting into trouble. Her friends, Erin (a female red fox) and Snitter (a female hare) follow Twapa loyally, but not without reservations. These three eventually meet up with Ciaran, another kangaroo rat, and Xe, a long-tailed weasel. Xe is a mysterious but lovable guy who suffers from amnesia and cannot remember anything from his life before he met Ciaran. When Twapa becomes depressed and attempts to commit suicide, Xe comes to her rescue with help from an invisible creature known only as "Bob", and a strange kitten named Ailourophasia who appears to him in dreams. It turns out that Ailourophasia (Phasia, for short) is really from a parallel world, where creatures possess unusual psychic powers. Later in the story, Phasia's world is threatened by Xe's father, Dr. Zirrus, who is the head of a shadowy corporation called "Xheotris Industries". Zirrus is experimenting in genetic manipulation and wants to exploit the denizens of Phasia's world for this purpose.

This strip deals with life, love, friendship, family, trust, responsibility, faith, and a little bit of inter-dimensional travel (compliments of Bob, the invisible guy). This strip is, for the most part, tender and thoughtful, but it also contains many sci-fi elements as well as a few gunfights. On another level, it also represents a sort of visual journal of the artist's own emotional struggles over the course of its writing. This comic is drawn in both strip and comic book formats, and rated from PG to PG-13, due to some violence and language.
