United Democratic Forces

United Democratic Forces is a Bulgarian parliamentary coalition formed in 1997. In the beginning the coalition was formed from 3 major parties: Union of Democratic Forces, Democratic Party and Bulgarian Agrarian People Party – Peoples Union. Later from the coalition was formed the Union of Free Democrats. The Union of Democratic Forces left the coalition and in the summer of 2004 the only one party in the coalition is the newly formed Democrats for Powerful Bulgaria leaded by Ivan Kostov, former prime minister in the period in which the United Democratic Forces were in charge.
