Uni Air

Uni Air is an airline based in Taiwan. A domestic and regional subsidiary of EVA Air. Previously known as Makung International Airlines until 1996, when EVA Air took the majority share of the airline. In 1998, the airline merged with Great China Airlines and Taiwan Airways, which EVA Air also holds shares in both carriers.

The airline has the largest market share in Domestic Taiwan market in recent years, and has expanded into international flight. Few of its McDonnell Douglas MD-90 aircraft has been repainted into and flying for parent carrier EVA Air to ease the overcapacity, which its rival also facing the same problem.

Fleet

The Uni Air fleet consists of McDonnell Douglas MD-90 aircraft and De Havilland Canada Dash 8 series (at March 2005). A Boeing 757–200 had been delivered in 1996 and was operated for some time. Its Dornier 228 fleet has sold to rival Mandarin Airlines to operate outer-lying islands.
