Unefon

Unefon is a Mexican mobile phone company owned by TV Azteca.

Unefon focuses on the middle class in South American countries. Unefon reached more than 1.4 million subscribers in 2002. The current head of Unefon is Adrian Steckel.

TV Azteca's owner, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, is currently (2005) accussed of breaking the Sarbanes-Oxley Act in the United States stock market and similar regulations in the Mexican one, by illegally profiting from privileged information in an operation related to Unefon.
