Ulfuls
ウルフルズ (Ulfuls in Romaji) is a Japanese rock band. Having debuted in the early 1990s with a Beatle-esque single, "Yaburekabure," they soon had numerous successes with singles, "Gattsudaze," and "Banzai." Their lead singer is Tortoise Matsumoto. Keisuke Ulful on guitar, John B. Chopper on bass and Sankon Jr. on drums. Albums include "Suttobasu" (1994); "Banzai" (1996); "Boogie Woogie '96" (1996); "Let's Go!" (1997); "Thank You For The Music" (1998); "Stupid And Honest" (1999); a greatest hits compilation "Ulfuls Best!" (2001); "Eenen" (2003); and "9" (2005).
The band name Ulfuls come from a misreading of the word "soulful", found on the cover of one of the band member's favorite records.
