Tyskie
Tyskie is a brand of beer from Poland. It is being manufactured in Tychy by the Kompania Piwowarska company. It is currently one of the best-selling brands of beer in Poland, with over 14,7% share of the Polish market in September 2004 (AC Nielsen). The brewery was founded in 1629 and is said to have produced beer constantly ever since.
Two main kinds of Tyskie are:
- Tyskie Gronie – based on a 17th century recipe. Light, full beer, mild yet relatively strong. 11,7% of extract and 5,7% of alcohol.
- Tyskie Książęce – Light, full beer, slightly stronger than the other version produced by the brewery and with more carbon dioxide. 12% of extract, 5,7% of alcohol.
Both beers are sold in a variety of packages, ranging from 0,5 litre bottle, through 0,66 litre bottles, 0,3 litre bottles, 0,5 litre tins, six-packs, 5 litre "party boxes" to 50 litre kegs.
