List of Neopian worlds

(Redirected from Tyrannia)

Please notice that this page does not contain a synopsis of Terror Mountain. Someone needs to correct this.

This is a list of Neopian worlds in alphabetical order. A Neopian world is a type of virtual land in Neopia (on a virtual pets website) where players venture with their Neopets. Each one has its own appearance and "culture", but consists of common areas such as shops and recreational spots (that is, games). Note that technically, regions or lands is more literally accurate than the commonly used term worlds, as these are all actually subdivisions of (or in orbit around) the planet of Neopia.

Table of contents

Faerieland

Faerieland is one of the fantasy worlds of the Neopets virtual pet website. It consists of two areas, Faerieland and Faerie City, and is mainly themed around "faeries," which are Neopets versions of what most people would know as fairies. The first area mostly contains games, e.g. Jhudora's Cloud, where an evil faerie gives quests in exchange for items, and the Wheel of Excitement.

Faerie City has, among other things, a couple of shops where you can find faerie-related items, an Employment Agency for your pets, and a secret link to the Hidden Tower where the Faerie Queen, Fyora, sells her very expensive items. Faeries give quests (a feature of the site in which users search for items in exchange for a prize, often improved statistics for the user's pet) here, as well.

Haunted Forest

The Haunted Forest, a Hallowe'en-themed area of Neopets.com, is an obviously haunted woodland, in which there are games, several shops, and a tower where you can visit a witch (Edna)who will give you quests. Since the opening of the Deserted Fairground, a sub-world, the Haunted Woods has increased in popularity. The Fairground contains, among other things, a flash game, the Wheel of Misfortune, and several shops. Not many pets are native to this area except the Korbat. The secret lab ray is known to be located within the Forest, though being secret, it doesn't appear on the map.

Jelly World

Jelly World is a fictional land created for the online community Neopets. Jelly World is the most secret of all the worlds. Everyone on the Neopets staff, when asked about Jelly World, will deny its existence (because they want to keep it a secret). But it does exist. It has few attractions, including the Giant Jelly, where you can go to get one free piece of jelly a day, and a shop where you can buy jelly items.

Jelly World's main attraction, is as we mentioned earlier, the Giant Jelly, which users can visit once a day to receive a free random jelly. The other attractions include two games: Jelly Blobs of Doom, and Bouncy Supreme. There is also a green jelly (which was used for the missing petpets plot), and a shop to buy rare jelly items.

Krawk Island

Krawk Island is a pirate-themed "island" within the world of Neopets, a popular children's website. On Krawk Island, you can visit a restaurant, have your Neopet trained by the Academy, play games such as Armada and Dubloon Disaster, and buy expensive, extremely rare items at the Smuggler's Cove. Krawk Island is the only Neopian world with its own currency, Dubloons. Contrary to popular belief, Krawks are not native to Krawk Island. They were driven from Tyrannia to the island before the pirates arrived. The pirates thought that the Krawks were native to the island and named it after them.

Kreludor

Kreludor is the most recently "discovered" fictional world in the fantasy world of Neopets, and is the moon of the main planet Neopia. Users can visit a Neocola Machine, buy books or eat there at a fancy caf'e. They may also go to the Mining Centre where they may try to find the codes of 8 numbers, 1–9. However, it seems the correct code was lost when the Neopets staff decided to cancel the Sloth Plot that was going to happen sometime in late 2004. The Mining Centre is run by the fictional Neopets villan Dr. Frank Sloth. Grundos live on Kreludor, not Virtupets Station, as most players think.

Lost Desert

Lost Desert is a world in the virtual pet simulation site Neopets simulating ancient Egypt. According to official information, the world was discovered by Brucey B (a card-playing Bruce when he was chasing his "lucky coin").

It is home to the mysterious Coltzan's Shrine as well as many games, shops, etc. There was once a war with the evil Dr. Sloth.

There are many addictive games in this world. The most popular (yet ended and retired) was Sakhmet Palace: There was once a large game called Usurper, which revolved around King Coltzan III, who had been mysteriously murdered. The object of this game was to discover the murderer by following the clues given. The top winners were awarded Neopoints and prizes.

Other games include:

  • Fruit Machine: A free chance game giving out Neopoints as well as Lost Desert fruits and occasionally paintbrushes. Sometimes it gives out petpets, such as a Mallard.
  • Swarm: A shooting game of hitting evil bugs as well as avoiding being hit.
  • Sutek's Tomb: A puzzle game of matching 3 icons by swapping figures on the gameplate.
  • Brucey B Slots: A multi-line slot with decent number of Neopoints as jackpot.
  • Pyramids: A card game costing 50 Neopoints per play, in which cards are arranged in a pyramid and the user needs to clear the pyramid.

Aishas are native to the Lost Desert, and so are Rukis. External links: The Lost Desert

Maraqua

In the virtual pet simulation Neopets, Maraqua is a mysterious city that was sunk by krawk pirates. Little is known about Maraqua, because few have ever seen it. There is a mysterious statue at the bottom, as well as a bubbling pit.

Neopets users can buy a rare "Maraquan Paint Brush" for (usually) over 1 million Neopoints so that they can turn one of their pets into a Maraquan Neopet; there is also a corresponding Petpet version of that paintbrush. New Maraquan Neopets appear with some regularity.

Before it was destroyed, Maraqua originally had shops, such as Utility Fish, Maraquan Foods, a Maraquan Chef and Maraquan Petpets. The Maraquan petpets got moved to Mystery Island, and the Kitchen chef, who was originally a shrimp but was moved to Mystery Island and turned into a Flotsam. Flotsam, Jetsam, and Koi live in Maraqua, but Kikos visit this area often.

In Year 6 (2004), Neopets staff hinted that Maraqua was going to be rebuilt sometime in 2005. In the Advent Calendar for Year 6, Neopets gave a "Rebuild Maraqua" poster for users to put in their Neohomes. At the end of the year, Neopets staff announced on the site's news page that Maraqua was going to be rebuilt in 2005.

The 'New Maraqua' is now rebuilt and can be visited by everyone. There is a collectable sea shell shop, a restaurant called "Kelp" that not many people have been able to visit, a weaponary shop and a link to the ruins of Maraqua. The Neopets Team promises that there will be much more links when the current plot is finished.

Update: A plot is currently undergoing on the rebuilding of Maraqua! Comic strips are released every few weeks on the plot. Starring Captain Scarblade, King Kelpbeard, Isca, Caylis, Garin, and Jacques so far.

Meridell

Meridell is the medieval themed land in Neopia, ruled by the grumpy King Skarl. It holds many attractions to the Neopets users, most of them involving fruits. Meridell is divided into 4 parts, The Meridell Castle, The Darigan Citadel (Citadel of Evil), Meri Acres Farm, and the Meridell main page. Among Neopian lands, Meridell has had the most wars on record: two. The first was a dispute between Lord Darigan and King Skarl, when King Skarl stole an orb that 'mutanized' everyone. Lord Darigan's army won the battle between them and the Meridell Defenders (we got to choose who to support between the two forces), but when Darigan regained the orb, he went crazy and became everyone's enemies. Finally, The Spectre of Lord Darigan was defeated by Featheralley's pet Majal_Kita. The second war was between Lord Kass (which took over Lord Darigan) and Meridell's Skarl. The war was won by Meridell and this time, everyone had to fight for Meridell instead of choosing. In the war, it's said Lord Darigan made peace, but he might go crazy again.

Last year a new area, Brightvale, opened, focuses more on the Renaissance theme. Brightvale is ruled by the wise old King Hagan, King Skarl's brother. Ixis, Usuls, Unis, and Draiks are located in Meridell.

Mystery Island

Mystery Island is one of the fictional lands in the Neopets online virtual pet game. It is a tropical island hundreds of miles away from other Neopian worlds. There are several points of interest, such as the Cooking Pot, Tombola (at which users may try to win free items, like the codestones you can use at the Training School, once per day), and even an island-themed tour guide. While on Mystery Island, one can use the Trading Post to exchange items with other users. This is advisable, as the Trading Post is the only legal way to trade your goods in Neopia. Kougras, Techos, Acaras, and JubJubs are natives.

Tyrannia

Tyrannia is a prehistoric world on Neopets. There is a jungle in the south and the plateau in the north. Tyrannia was "discovered" when there was an earthquake in the Ice Caves area of Neopets, causing a crack to form in the ground. In Tyrannia, one can visit a concert, grab a slice of Giant Omelette, play such games as Go! Go! Go! or buy Tyrannian furniture at their furniture store. Native pets include the Pteri, the Chomby, the Grarrl, the Scorchio, and the Tonu.

Neopia Central

The main world of Neopia, many famous attractions are located here, like the shop wizard and Neopia Bank. Unfortunately, not much games are here, except for Defenders of Neopia. There is a market to the far west of Neopia Central, where players can make shops. Chias and Skeiths are native to Neopia Central.

Talador

The continent on the other side of Neopia is called Talador. Talador is easily viewable from Neopia's moon Kreludor [1]. Not much is known about Talador, but it is known that the Darkest Faerie tried to take over Talador 1000 years ago, only to be put under a curse and thrown into the ocean. You can see her in Maraqua. Nobody can access Talador yet, but rumors surrounding the Neopets site indicate that it will be opened to Neopians in 2005. Proof of its existence can be found on the Neopets Trading Cards Siyana of Talador and Jerdana.

Terror Mountain

Terror Mountain is the home of the Bruce, Bori, the Cybunny, and the Snow Faerie.

Terror Mountain is divided into three separate places to explore. They are Happy Valley, Terror Mountain and the Ice Caves. A crack in the floor of the Ice Caves caused Tyrannia to be discovered.

The top of Terror Mountain has a ski lodge from an old plot, a shop of mystery where you can buy random mystery items, a toy repair shop for broken toys, and several games.

Native Neopets inclued all the Neopets listed above, plus Poogles.
