Type A personality
(Redirected from Type-A behavior)
Type A personality is a term used to describe people who are driven, hard-working, busy, and impatient. It was first described as an important risk factor in coronary disease in the 1950's by cardiologist Meyer Friedman and his coworkers. Friedman characterizes Type A behaviour as "time urgency (or hurry sickness) and an easily-aroused irritability or anger ... or free-floating hostility". It is estimated that Type-A behavior doubles the risk of coronary heart disease in otherwise healthy men.
