Txakoli
Txakoli is a young, fresh, slightly sparkling white wine produced in the Basque Country. It is a novelty wine, only made in three main villages (Getaria, Zarautz and Aya) along the Basque coast. It is made from either of the area's two indigenous grapes, getariako txakolina or bizkaiko txakolina. Txakoli wines are high in acidity and low in alcohol.
There is a Txakoli Museum located close to Bilbao that explains the history of txakoli and consists of a large collection of machinery for making it.
