Too Busy Thinking About My Baby
"Too Busy Thinking About My Baby" was a 1966 album track for The Temptations, that later became a 1969 hit song by American soul music legend Marvin Gaye for the Motown label. Already going through a vocal change by this point and fresh from the success of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine", this song was less painful than the first in which Gaye discussed how he had "no time to discuss weather" or "think about what money can buy" because when he thinks about his woman, "I ain't got time for nothing else". The song was the second successful song, after "I Heard It Through the Grapevine", for Gaye with collaborators Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong, reaching #4 Pop and #1 R&B and was the leading song from his Top 40 album, M.P.G. (the initials were of his real name – Marvin Pentz Gaye).
