Tongling (Simplified Chinese: 铜陵; Traditional Chinese: 銅陵; pinyin: Tónglíng; Wade-Giles: T'ung2-ling2) is a city in Anhui province of China.

In Chinese, tong (銅) means copper, while ling (陵) means city. This city produces a great deal of copper and is named after that. Actually, this area has a very long history of copper production, as evidenced from the work of Li Bai, one the most famous poets in Chinese history.
