Career
Laughlin started wrestling in the New England area as Bobby Ocean in 1989. He soon changed his name to T.D. Madison to team with G.Q. Madison as The Madison Brothers in ICCW, where they won the tag team titles twice.
He debuted as Tommy Dreamer in 1992 for the now defunct Extreme Championship Wrestling and was a mainstay there until it closed in 2001. Known as the "Innovator of Violence", he was well-known for bringing foreign objects such as a Kendo Stick to the ring. He was the first wrestler to kick out of Superfly Jimmy Snuka's Superfly Splash.
He had a legendary feud with Raven that started in April 1995 and lasted until June 7, 1997, when Dreamer won a loser leaves ECW match. Dreamer had not won a singles match against Raven the entire feud. Dreamer stole Beulah McGillicuty from Raven during this feud. He also feuded with Justin Credible and Shane Douglas while there.
He was the main ECW representative in the ECW vs. USWA feud against Jerry Lawler in 1997.
He is a former ECW World Heavyweight Champion, winning the belt in 2000, but losing the belt 18 minutes later to Justin Credible.
He is a loyal friend of former ECW owner and WWE performer Paul Heyman and followed him to WWE in 2001 where he stayed until 2003. He won the Hardcore Title several times there and did an angle where he ate disgusting things. He also had a brief revival of his feud with Raven, winning a loser leaves Raw match on June 24, 2002 which sent Raven to WWE's Heat program.
He was also the first wrestler to bring weapons at the Royal Rumble which gives a "hardcore flavor" at the event.
In 2005, Dreamer can still be occasionally found wrestling on the independent circuit.
He is married to his former ring manager Beulah McGillicuty (Teresa Hayes). They were married on October 12, 2002.
