Tokyo Electric Power (東京電力; Tōkyō denryoku) is a company that supplies power to Tokyo and its surronding area. It is the largest in Japan as well as in Asia.
The company has 17 nuclear power plants and operates many of them depending on demands.
History
The company was established in 1951.
In April 2003, the Japanese government ordered it to shut all of its nuclear reactors for safety checks after false safety documents were found.
